All of us here in the College are delighted for Marie on her Basketball Ireland Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 for her outstanding contribution to schools basketball over the years. Marie has been coaching since 1984 and is still going from strength to strength, as witnessed by our 1st Year’s recent Bronze Medal win in UL.
Her son Emmet picked up the award on her behalf and although we know Marie likes to dodge the limelight, some occasions and awards need to be marked. Basketball Ireland also wrote a lovely piece about Marie for the Awards Night, listing her achievements to date. (We are attaching it below.) We are confident that there will be many more achievements, before Marie hangs up her boots.
She still inspires our young Basketballers to achieve their full potential and we are extremely grateful to her for all her hard work and commitment.
