This year our debating team made it to the final of the Leinster Junior Schools competition for the first time in the schools history.
3rd year Rian Hendricks Carroll, who has made it through 7 rounds of debating over the last 6 months to be one of the top 4 individuals in the competition spoke unbelievably well in front of a full Fitzgerald debating chamber in UCD, with a number of debating and non debating students coming in to support him!
Unfortunately, we did not get the win that we had hoped for, but Rian did the school proud. A big congratulations to the speakers from St Andrews and Loreto Beaufort who were victorious.
